syrup from trees that have been fertilized with a chemical fertilizer or treated with chemical pesticides do not qualify as organic. so, no. not all maple syrup is organic.

yes, particularly when you have many thousands of them and you need them to grow and not die because your income depends on it.

Except they grow wild and fertilizer doesn’t make them produce any more. They’re a native tree that doesn’t even need to be watered . They naturally grow in stands together and they’re sensitive to pollution. The only thing you could possibly do for them is very periodically apply garden lime to raise the pH of the soil.
The actual difference is that one went through the process to get certified and the other didn’t...
